Is it acceptable for my orthodontist to take of my braces even though my teeth aren't straight yet?

My orthodontist has told me that my teeth won't straighten out any more than this, so he wants to take them off now. Is this acceptable at all? I'm deeply disappointed at the outcome because I've had them on for 3 years. I know people with much worse teeth at baseline who have completed their treatment with much better results. I just don't understand why they won't straighten out anymore, according to my orthodontist.

May it's because to set up the retainers. Retainers works better after braces.
It's wise to take suggestions from your Ortho(Kieferorthop√§de M√ľnchen). Gd Luck
